Postdoctoral Fellow- Wang Lab

A postdoctoral position is available for a skilled and motivated candidate within the Xuewei Wang Lab in the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. The successful candidate will conduct research on optical chemical sensors for medical diagnostics and/or nanoparticles for drug delivery. In addition to conducting experiments, the candidate is expected to write journal articles and help with grant proposal writing.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will conduct research on optical chemical sensors for medical diagnostics and/or nanoparticles for drug delivery. In addition to conducting experiments, the candidate is expected to write journal articles and help with grant proposal writing.

Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated research experience in at least one of the following areas: organic synthesis, design and preparation of polymeric nanoparticles, design and fabrication of microfluidic chips.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to mentor junior team members
Experience in chemical sensors
