Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Elliott Lab seeks a candidate that will engage in team-based, leading-edge research that relates to innate immunity and the specific role of macrophages in multiple disease settings. Currently, we have a number of funded projects focused on understanding the mechanisms and physiologic consequences of macrophage function in: mAb-based anti-cancer immunotherapies; Alzheimer’s disease; tissue inflammation in microbial infection and aging; and erythropoiesis, anemia, and age-related cytopenias. Our research employs cutting-edge in vitro and in vivo approaches including bioinformatics, cellular and molecular biology, and in vivo studies in mice to understand the basis of human disease.

Postdoctoral employment is temporary and is normally limited to an individual who has been awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within the previous five years and who will be involved in full-time research or scholarship at the University. Employment as a Postdoctoral Research Associate is viewed as training and is preparatory for a full-time academic or research career, is supervised by a senior scholar, and allows the appointee to publish the results of his/her research or scholarship during the training period.

Minimum Requirements:

• Doctoral degree

This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project needs, availability of funding, and performance .Postdoctoral Research Associate appointments are initially limited to one year. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. This position will also require an Education Verification. (FSAKA).
