Postdoctoral Research Associate, Department of Neuroscience

The Department of Neuroscience and the Center of Brain Immunology and Glia at the University of Virginia is seeking two motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the Kuan Lab to investigate (1) neurotoxicity of the phosphorylated Tau oligomers and (2) lytic therapies and collateral circulation in ischemic stroke using murine experimental models.

Candidates should have the ability to work creatively and independently in the development of research projects, demonstrate a track record of planning, performing, and publishing original research, and possess effective oral and written communication skills. Experiences in working with mouse models and supervising undergraduate students and/or technicians is preferred. Prior research experience in the two specific subjects will be highly preferred.

The Research Associate position is a 12-month appointment with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: A PhD degree in Neuroscience, Immunology, or related fields prior to start date.

This is a restricted position; continuation is dependent on funding and satisfactory performance.
