The Findlay Lab in the Department of Surgery and Massey Cancer Center located at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia is recruiting for motivated and skilled researchers for two (2) Postdoctoral positions. The chosen candidates will lead experiments on a federally funded project to investigate ‘lifestyle associated reactive metabolites and their negative impact on breast cancer risk’. Predominantly using cell line and dietary mouse models, the postdoctoral researchers will investigate the effects of Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) on epithelial-fibroblast cross talk in the mammary gland microenvironment and its consequences to breast cancer risk.

Requires an in-depth knowledge of relevant disciplines, processes or specialized fields
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team from culturally diverse backgrounds
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a team member at VCU is required
Additional Qualifications:
Prior experience in cancer biology, normal development or cell biology
Track record of productivity and independence
Experience with mouse models is preferred but not required
Driven to be an independent scientist
