Professor/Associate Professor of Law (tenure-line, open rank) or Visiting Professor

The University of Virginia School of Law seeks candidates for a small number of tenure-line (entry-level, full) or visiting faculty positions beginning in August 2025. These new faculty members will join a vibrant scholarly community in the School of Law, which takes pride in its collegial and supportive environment.

Entry-level candidates are strongly encouraged to register with the AALS Faculty Appointments Register (FAR). Please check with the AALS regarding their registration deadlines.

The positions will remain open to applications until filled.

Qualifications

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or foreign equivalent degree strongly preferred. In exceptional cases, a terminal degree in the applicant’s field (e.g., a Ph.D.) will be considered. Rank and compensation subject to individual qualifications and experience. Distinguished academic and professional background and superior scholarly record expected. Curriculum needs varied.
