The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for a full time Program Coordinator to assist with academic and professional development program coordination. The main office for this position will be located in the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, Virginia and occasional travel to the Oxbow Center in St. Paul and the UVA Wise campus in Wise will be necessary.
Job Duties:
Office Management - maintain daily operations of the Abingdon office; provide excellent customer service, organization and management of the office; budget reconciliations; serve as liaison for students, faculty and administration; correspondence with other academic institutions, local businesses, public school systems and community organizations; reserve rooms and AV support for UVA Wise meetings and classes at the SVHEC; assist with SVHEC board reports; develop marketing materials; maintain faculty/student/program/fiscal records; handle email correspondence; maintain active calendars.
Student Services - assist with student program orientation; proctor exams; schedule space for student meetings/exams.
Enrollment Management - recruiting (which includes private visits, college/job fairs and walk-in inquiries); marketing (newspaper ads, press releases and information sessions); serving as liaison for the admission and financial aid process for prospective students; maintain up-to-date brochure racks, bulletin board, marquee, Axis TV slides as well as maintaining website and social media content.
Professional Development - assist with logistics, marketing and preparation of open enrollment and customized training programs. Provide day of support and set up, process invoices and facilitator payments, follow up with program evaluations, etc.
Work with respective departments at UVA Wise and the community to evaluate the needs of the area to build academic and professional development programs to fill the gaps in the region.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
• Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration, or related field (required);
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Must have the ability to handle multiple assignments, organize work and establish priorities with minimal supervision;
• Accurate and precise attention to detail;
• Flexibility to work some nights or weekends as may arise from certain event attendance.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
