Subject matter expert relied on heavily for knowledge experience and expertise in managing large Medical Center projects and programs that are highly visible to executive leaders and board members. Specifically involved in information technology deployments and major medical center initiatives such as major technology investments and new business acquisition. Establishes priorities for mission-critical high-profile projects that require special attention. Provides project management monitors including development of the project plan tracking of budget and expenses and development of progress reports as the project work proceeds.

Portfolio Management:
  • Partner with vertical executive leadership (e.g., Ambulatory, Inpatient, and Operations & Support Services), governance committees, Clinical Engineering, Clinical Operations, Facilities, Finance, and Health Information Technology (HIT) in evolving governance process strategy, prioritizing initiatives by the organizational strategy.
  • Manage and coordinate a vertical portfolio, roadmaps, capacity, and communication plan, including recurring committee, staff, and leadership meetings.
  • Identify department growth risks/issues in implementing agreed-upon solutions and measure project outcomes.
  • Continuously improve the PMO delivery methodology tools and templates for consistency and effectiveness.


Project Management:

• Manage one or more high-profile/high-impact projects with a high-level complexity.

• Act as a project team leader responsible for managing the full project lifecycle from project intake to completion while delivering business objectives and benefits.

• Effectively manage stakeholder and project team expectations by recognizing, communicating, mitigating issues, and recommending appropriate corrective actions professionally using the proper escalation path.

• Direct and monitor activities of cross-functional project personnel, identifying resource needs, performing the quality review, and escalating functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within budget.

• Create and manage project documentation, including, but not limited to, project charter, scope, objectives, duration estimates, schedules, milestones, identification of project personnel, RAID logs, action items, etc.

• Interact with senior management to manage and monitor project portfolio including, but not limited to, review of project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.

• Facilitate project team meetings and oversee the creation of a project communications plan to provide updates regarding the impact of project activities on project stakeholders.

• Provide bi-monthly reports, at minimum, to senior management regarding project status, including impacts to cost, scope, time, and quality, as well as impact on personnel and other resources.

• Call attention to potential problems as they arise and recommend the appropriate corrective actions.

• Monitor, measure, and report on the productivity and performance of projects and interrelated work streams.

Continuous Improvement:

• Establish and implement project management tools and methods to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet assigned expectations.

• Bring continuous improvement tools, methods, training, and coaching to the organization to support our drive toward operational excellence.

• Ensure methods to mitigate project risks are evaluated and developed into contingency plans.

• Train and mentor project sponsors, process owners, and project teams in project management concepts while developing staff competency to support project management standards.

Position Compensation Range: $106,974.40 - $171,163.20 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree Preferred.
Experience: 7 years of project management experience. 2 years of data gathering and business analysis experience.
Licensure: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar certification is required; PMP certification is required within one year of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull <= 20lbs and freely travel and climb stairs.
