Position Responsibilities
The Department of Rehabilitation in the VCU College of Health Professions is recruiting a Project Administrator to fiscally support the rapidly growing Virginia Partnership for Gaming and Health project led by Principal Investigator Dr. Carolyn Hawley. This project is funded by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services in partnership with the Virginia Lottery who are all committed to strengthening treatment services for individuals who need support for problem gambling. More specifically, the PA will be responsible for the fiscal management and operations of the partnership to include ensuring timely payments, monitoring account balances, processing fiscal Banner transactions and ensuring University & Sponsor compliance. The work will involve assisting in the oversight of timeline estimates, deadlines, and reports. Typical responsibilities include implementing process improvement and procedures; providing administrative support and providing planning, organization, and coordination support for the various functions of the program. The use of independent problem solving while working as a member of the team and liaison with other entities and organizations.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, 1-3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
Demonstrated experience in working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency in the daily use of Microsoft Excel, Google suite and Zoom
Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of state and university financial operations, policies, procedures and systems
Experience with state/university or higher education setting
Experience with university purchasing procedures
Experience with sponsored programs rules and regulations
This is a grant funded, part-time hourly position offering 20 hours/week.
