We have an exciting opportunity to join UVA’s Facilities Management Capital Construction and Renovations (CC&R) department as a Project Coordinator. UVA Health Division of CC&R is focused on healthcare, research, and infrastructure projects.
CC&R supports Facilities Management's goal by providing managerial support for all design and engineering services, and managing all construction services and the procurement for all construction contracts and design/engineering professional services contracts for the University community. The incumbent closely coordinates with the Office of the University Building Official and the Office of the Architect for the University.
Project Coordinators are responsible for supporting the coordination of design, procurement and construction activities associated with various complex construction work. They manage third party contractors as well as, University community vendor relationships. Construction projects include new construction and the maintenance, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse and additions to existing facilities and landscapes. Job duties are performed under general direction from a Senior Project Manager or other designated supervisor.

The successful candidates will have a passion for constructing buildings for patients, faculty, staff, and students as well as the ability to manage projects from start to finish. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to speak with a variety of constituent levels is a must.
Facilities Management supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,100 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for managing the University’s Capital Construction and Renovations Program, the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of the University’s buildings, infrastructure, and grounds as well as, other University owned and leased properties.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or University, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Two years of experience with project or process management. Without Bachelor's degree, must have six years of relevant experience.
Selected candidates will pass a background check and health screening.
Skills and abilities:
Reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to use computers and associated applications for time tracking and documentation of work.
Ability to work well in a diverse and team-oriented environment.
Interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact with people of diverse backgrounds.
Detail-oriented with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, or specifications.
Anticipated Hiring Range: $65,000; actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position will be open until filled.
