The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia’s (UVA) School of Medicine is looking for two project coordinators to assist a combination of the following divisions with new initiatives and projects: Nephrology, General Pediatrics, Neonatology, and Respiratory. The successful candidate will join a department that employs outstanding people and is progressive in its initiatives to develop and support its staff, making it a great place to work. This position will join a supportive, learning-oriented team. Project Coordinators provide administrative support for a project, including scheduling, budgeting, handling correspondence, and other tasks as assigned. They work at the task level, under direct supervision, and follow prescribed procedures and protocols.
The successful candidate will be expected to: • Support the project staff by facilitating project logistics such as scheduling meetings, reserving conference rooms, and conducting conference calls. • Take minutes and action items during meetings, and perform basic follow-up. • Assist with coordinating reports and preparing materials for presentations. • Prepare basic analyses of information and data. • Maintain website information related to projects as needed. • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Qualified candidates must have: • Associate's degree • One year of experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Physical Demands: This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. This position will remain open until filled. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.
