UVA’s Office of University Advancement seeks applications for a Prospect Management Analyst to join the Decision Support team. The Prospect Management Analyst will report to the Director for Analytics and Decision Support. They will work in a liaison structure to monitor and evaluate prospect tracking and activity information; analyze and quantify information on donors and prospects; conduct regularly scheduled portfolio and pipeline reviews, partner with the prospect research and development officers to effectively use prospect research to inform prospect strategies, and train development officers and their support staff on database use and Prospect Management policies and procedures. https://giving.virginia.edu/office-of-advancement/careers
The successful candidate will be expected to work with the Assistant Director of Prospect Management and the Director for Prospect Management to define, develop, and monitor prospect pools for each of their assigned schools and units in the liaison structure. The analyst will also be responsible for working with Business Intelligence and Analytics to produce a regularly scheduled suite of reports for use by development officers and leadership to inform the community about our fundraising activity and successes.
Responsibilites:
Employ analytical techniques to drive more strategic fundraising processes by collaborating on new forecasting data models and prospect ranking tools, and developing new strategies for mining prospects from databases to support fundraising goals and objectives
Serve as a consultant to fundraising units on development officer and annual unit goals.
Review prospect management information and activity entered into the database by our development officers thorough a series of reports, Tableau, and Evertrue.
Consistently and effectively work with development officers on updating prospect and proposal information in our database.
Develop working relationships with assigned development offices to collaborate with them on their portfolio management needs and database usage.
Through a lens of customer service and partnership meet with development officers on a regular basis for portfolio and proposal reviews.
Work with prospect research on applying their findings to ongoing gift conversations, prospect cultivation strategies, and prospect pool development.
Train development officers and their support staff on prospect development policies and procedures, database use, and how to effectively use our reports in Tableau.
Develop prospect pools for each assigned school and unit for use in creating new portfolios, developing portfolios for fundraising initiatives, refreshing portfolios during portfolio reviews.
Analyze and monitor prospect pools for fundraising activity.
In collaboration with Business Intelligence and Analytics produce monthly reporting and analysis for fundraising and development activities that enable leadership to effectively monitor and evaluate our fundraising progress and development officer performance.
Understand and apply national best practices, processes, and technologies for prospect management. Learn about technologies, products, and expertise that could improve the effectiveness of our fundraising efforts and apply them to grow and achieve an industry-leading program.

Qualified candidates must have bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of related experience is required.
