Under general direction of faculty and/or senior research personnel, Research Coordinator employees support the development, design, and implementation of research projects according to plans. They operate with understanding of research goals and objectives but follow established protocols and guidelines. Employees seek instruction in areas of complexity.

The Program for Anxiety, Cognition and Treatment (PACT) Lab at the University of Virginia, under the direction of BethanyTeachman, Ph.D, in collaboration with the Sensing Systems for Health Lab , under the direction of Laura Barnes, Ph.D, seeks applicants for a full-time Project Coordinator to start July 10, 2023 (though specific start date is negotiable). Duties will include helping to manage the psychophysiological data collections and cleaning, database management, coordinating IRB applications, assisting with participant recruitment and study protocol implementation, preparation of study materials (including programming support for our development team), training research assistants, and general administrative and lab project support. The Lab Coordinator will also have opportunities to co-author scientific papers and conduct independent research. This is an excellent position for a college graduate who is interested in gaining additional research experience before going on to graduate study in clinical psychology or engineering.

Qualifications include a BA/BS in the Behavioral Sciences (e.g., psychology), Computer Science, Engineering or related field prior to starting the position.Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong background in research, ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, excellent communication skills, commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a conscientious work style.
