Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Instructor

The School of Nursing at the University of Virginia seeks an experienced Clinical Instructor with a background in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing for a part time, tenure-ineligible, salaried Clinical Instructor. The start date of this position is the Fall 2022 semester.

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Nursing, with two years of previous experience in psychiatric mental health. Candidates must have or be eligible for Licensure in Virginia and will be required to obtain a license by the start date of the position. Preference will be given to applicants with a DNP or PhD in Nursing. Applicants with a certification in psychiatric mental health nursing are strongly encouraged to apply.

Duties include:

• Direct supervision of students (approximately 20 hrs per week) in a Psychiatric Mental Health clinical environment
  
• Clinical Coordination (Approximately 4 hours per week) for the Psychiatric Mental Health clinical courses
  

This is a part time 26 hour per week, 9-month appointment.

An official offer of employment is contingent on a successful background check and completion of a medical screening as required by the University of Virginia Health System.
