The Quality and Education Coordinator Sterile Processing is an experienced Certified Registered Central Service Technician. He/she is responsible for coordination and implementation of the SPD Quality Assurance Program Training and education of new staff. This position is also responsible for ensuring annual competency of existing SPD and OPSC staff. He / she serves as a liaison between Surgical Services and the Sterile Processing Department. Superior communication and computer skills are required as is extensive knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile Processing standards of practice.
Quality Assurance: Provides and reviews all quality related concerns responding with root cause analysis.
Staff Development: Provides training / development to SPD team members at main SPD and OPSC.
Leadership / Professional Development: Provides leadership in professional development of SPD team members at main SPD and OPSC.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $18.01 - $27.92 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience: 2 years relevant experience
Licensure: Certified as a Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) or Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD) from an accredited organization
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
