Radiation Therapist

The Role

As a Radiation Therapist with UVA Health, you will be part of a dynamic and highly collaborative care team, delivering advanced radiation treatments while supporting patients throughout their cancer journey. This role blends technical expertise with compassionate patient interaction in a fast-paced, high-impact clinical setting.

In an average day, you will:

• Deliver precise radiation therapy treatments using state-of-the-art technologies , ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards
  

• Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff to coordinate individualized treatment plans
  

• Provide empathetic, patient-centered care , supporting patients and families through complex and emotional treatment journeys
  

• Operate advanced systems including:
  

• Varian TrueBeam with RapidArc , HyperSight , and Identify
  

• ViewRay MRIdian A3i for MRI ‑ guided radiation therapy
  

• Total skin electron therapy (TSET)
  

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all clinical protocols and regulatory standards
  

• Contribute to a team culture rooted in trust, accountability, and collaboration , where therapists rely on one another and function as a cohesive unit

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program.

Experience: No experience required.

Licensure: American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) certification within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $37.47 - $59.95 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
