The University of Virginia's (UVA) Department of Human Resources is currently seeking a Recruiter to join their team . Recruiters are a vital role designed to provide best in class recruitment services to support the many programs and initiatives of The University of Virginia. The Recruiter will create an environment of trust with hiring managers, faculty, and candidates, while providing a consistent level of service and appropriate sourcing for open positions.

This is a new role to support the growing needs at UVA. The incumbents will report to the Manager of Academic Talent Recruitment and will not have direct reports.

The successful candidates will thrive in a team environment but will have the ability to successfully navigate an aut onomous role. Recruiters are responsible for drafting and executing a search strategy, posting andadvertisingvacant positions, assisting with the interview process, negotiating and delivering verbal offers, and ultimately formally extending offer letters.The Talent Recruitment team recruits for faculty, staff, and research positions throughout the University to build our talent pipeline with a diverse candidate pool of top talent . This includes identifying , sourcing, and attracting top talent by utilizing creative sourcing techniques for both active and passive candidates . Recruiters p artner and collaborate with hiring managers to create customized job descriptions, share insight on the talent market with hiring managers, s erve as a liaison with hiring managers and candidates , to streamline the recruitment process . R esponsibilities will include screening r esumes for minimum qualifications and assisting managers as needed with Workday, UVA’s Applicant Tracking System . The incumbents will m anag e the full life cycle recruiting process for candidates, to ensure they have a positive experience .

Recruiters must be able to conduct activities and make decisions according to ethical standards and p rovide hiring managers with best practices for increasing diversity and inclusion and advice on HR best practices as it relates to Talent Recruitment. R esponsibilities include m aintaining reports, data, metrics and/or KPIs to leaders within UVA; and a proven ability to analyze and present information and m a intain a c curate a nd detailed records is r e quired . The ability to clearly articulate complex, specific information i n the area of s ubject matter e x pertise a nd to advise other professionals on policy and procedures is essential.Recruiters s erv e as a liaison between the Schools, UVA HR, and Provost on facultyand staffmatters; and u se partnering skills to build and foster working relationships with hiring managers, HR Business Partners, external partners, and organization al leadership .

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • At least one year of relevant HR/R ecruiting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experienceworking withfaculty searches, faculty affairs, human resources, or staff development inahigher educationsetting .
  • E xperience with Workday or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)

This position is currently remote due to Covid-19 protocols but would be reevaluated when it is deemed appropriate to return to Grounds.

This position is for one year and are restricted positions , with the possibility of extension depending upon project need, availability of funding and performance .

This position will remain open until filled . The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment .

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
