A Recruitment Coordinator is sought to work closely with the Clinical Research Coordinator and the study team to identify and help to enroll eligible patients for a 5-year, NIH-funded study of colorectal cancer screening. The study involves recruitment of human subjects, collection of personal monitoring (sleep, actigraphy, heart rate) and collection of human biospecimens. In addition to excellent administrative and interpersonal communication skills, the position requires an understanding of regulatory requirements for human research protection, ability to coordinate staff, experience with recordkeeping, scheduling, report preparation and related research activities. The Recruitment Coordinator will maintain frequent contact with the Clinical Research Coordinator, clinical collaborators, Principal Investigator (PI), study staff and study participants at multiple locations.
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
Patient-facing experience in clinical settings
Experience in clinical research
Ability to drive to recruitment and study visit sites at VCU and the greater Richmond area
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to multitask and manage priorities to meet deadlines
Ability to anticipate problems and be proactive in seeking their solutions
Ability to maintain high level of organization and attention to detail
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
Experience in collaborating with individuals of a wide range of backgrounds, including research scientists, administrators, clinicians and clinical staff, service providers and contractors, university students, and participants of all backgrounds
Good working knowledge of one or more database management software packages
