Interventional Radiology patients often move through a complex path of consults , imaging, procedures, follow-up testing, and ongoing care planning. This RN role is central to making that experience clear, coordinated, and clinically connected for patients, families, providers, and scheduling teams.

As an RN in the Interventional Radiology Ambulatory Clinic , you will serve as a key clinical coordinator for patients navigating IR care. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys patient navigation, multidisciplinary collaboration, ambulatory workflows, and complex care coordination without the weekend, call, holiday, sedation, or procedure room responsibilities of a procedural IR nursing role.

The Role

In this clinic-based role, you will help patients move efficiently and safely from evaluation through procedure scheduling and follow-up. You will work closely with physicians, providers, IR schedulers, patients, and clinical staff to keep care plans moving, clarify next steps, and support continuity across a highly specialized service line.

This is a Monday-Friday, traditional clinic-based schedule with no weekends, no holidays, and no call requirements . It offers the professional satisfaction of working in a highly specialized area while supporting a more predictable work-life rhythm.

This position is ideal for an RN who enjoys being the “air traffic controller” of patient care , keeping multiple priorities organized while maintaining a strong patient-centered focus. This is a strong fit for an RN with ambulatory, clinic, care coordination, or Interventional Radiology experience who is ready to bring clinical organization and patient advocacy to a highly specialized care environment.

In an average day, you may:

  • Coordinate clinic visits, provider recommendations, imaging, diagnostic testing, and follow-up orders.

  • Partner closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure patients are evaluated and prepared for next steps.

  • Communicate with IR schedulers to support a smooth transition from clinic evaluation to procedure scheduling.

  • Follow up with patients after procedures and help coordinate additional imaging, labs, or clinic appointments.

  • Serve as a liaison among patients, providers, scheduling teams, and clinical staff.

  • Support continuity of care for patients with complex interventional radiology needs.

  • Use strong organization, communication, and clinical judgment to manage multiple moving pieces at once.
