The University of Virginia seeks a Research Administrative Assistant to join the Department of Anesthesiology. The Research Administrative Assistant will provide high level administrative support to the department’s research team and some basic department administrative support. The Research Administrative Assistant will play an integral role in assisting people to advance the research and innovation mission of the department. The incumbent will assist the faculty with grant and manuscript preparation and submission, communication with various stakeholders, scheduling of research meetings and activities, and database maintaining and tracking. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma with at least one year of experience is required.
  • Experience with database management tools, such as Microsoft Excel or Access is required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to communication with medical providers and clinical and bench research staff.
  • Must be detailed-oriented with strong organizational skills and have the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinic environment.
  • Experience with EndNote is desirable
  • Experience working with EPIC is desirable.
  • Must have experience with managing calendars and coordinating appointments or surgeries.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

This position will remain open till filled. This is a Non-Exempt level, benefited position. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance. Anticipated Hiring Range: $20/hr - $22/hr commensurate with education and experience. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.
