Typical Duties
The Information Desk Coordinator serves as an Information Desk shift supervisor and assist the Assistant Director of Desk Operations with daily oversight of the operations of information desks. They enforce policy and procedures among the employees; are responsible for management of staff; are responsible for training, supervising, and evaluating all hourly undergraduate and graduate Desk Assistant staff; participate in an on-call rotation; work closely with university staff in crisis situations; respond to emergencies to support students and housing operations during weather-related or scheduled university closures, campus-wide disruptions, campus-wide health concerns or pandemics, etc. They assist in managing the administrative functions of residence hall information desks across campus such as managing the staff scheduling process, and provide leadership in promoting an atmosphere within the residential community that fosters responsible decision-making among the Desk Assistants.
Typical Education and Experience
Must have an HS diploma or GED. Must have excellent communication skills Must have intermediate-level computer skills and the ability to learn new software. Demonstrated commitment to student success and experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Salary: $39,000 - $41,000
