Job Duties
Plan, direct, control supervise and coordinate all Nursing Service activities
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs.
Assign nursing tasks and ensure proper staffing levels.
Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to nursing staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and assist with disciplinary actions if necessary.
Ensure staff compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the delivery of nursing care to residents/patients, ensuring it meets professional standards.
Review patient care plans, assessments, and clinical documentation.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, social workers) to coordinate care.
Monitor patients’ health status and intervene as needed to manage acute or chronic conditions.
Respond to emergencies and provide direct nursing care when necessary.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., CMS, OSHA, state health departments).
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and infection control programs.
Maintain accurate and thorough nursing records and reports.
Implement and monitor adherence to patient safety protocols.
Prepare staffing schedules and manage shift coverage
Handle communication between nursing staff and administration.
Participate in facility committees and meetings.
Manage documentation related to patient care and nursing operations.
Act as a liaison between nursing staff, patients, families, and medical providers.
Address and resolve patient or family concerns related to nursing care.
Facilitate effective communication within the nursing team and across departments.
Minimum Qualifications
Current State of Virginia RN license
Supervisory experience
Experience in Geriatrics and
In-Service Education
CPR certification required upon hire or willing to obtain
