Operating entirely on revenue from game sales, rather than tax dollars, the Virginia Lottery generates more than $2.0 million per day for Virginia’s K-12 public schools. The Virginia Lottery also licenses and regulates casino gaming and mobile sports betting.

The Virginia Lottery, an independent state agency, is currently seeking a Sales Analyst to join its Sales Department.

The Sales Analyst plays a crucial role in enhancing overall sales productivity through the meticulous collection, analysis, and reporting of sales data. This position involves gathering sales records and evaluating performance against sales goals, while also considering current economic conditions.

Key responsibilities include creating both standardized and custom reports, conducting quantitative analyses of products, sales, corporate accounts, trade styles, sales areas, and territories. The Sales Analyst also supports internal and retailer promotions, events, and incentives, and assesses future needs and data integrity. Additionally, the Sales Analyst is tasked with developing standardized tools, methodologies, and business processes aimed at improving sales, profits, and operational efficiency.

Note - This position requires in-office work three days per week including Tuesday and Wednesday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with major studies in Business, Data Analytics, Sales or related field.
• 3+ years of experience including data analysis, development, data modeling, and integration.
• Knowledge of advanced research methods, statistical techniques, and quantitative methodology.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse audiences.
• Ability to present findings in a logical manner.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot technical problems in a complex heterogeneous environment.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to quickly respond to critical operational issues during and outside regular business hours.

A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Additional Considerations

Advanced degree in Business, Data Analytics, Sales, or a related field preferred.
