The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for a Senior Administrative Assistant. This position performs advanced, diversified, and confidential administrative duties supporting faculty members in departmental and institutional leadership positions.
Responsibilities include:
Scheduling and maintaining a calendar of appointments, meetings, and travel itineraries;
Preparing agendas and taking meeting minutes;
Facilitating high level recruitment itineraries;
Preparing and composing routine correspondence, memoranda, and reports;
Providing advanced administrative coordination to support office operations and special projects;
Reviewing and answering correspondence, screening callers and visitors, and handling confidential matters;
Facilitating communication across the department and institution, with alumni and the general public;
Managing electronic files, producing reports, and tracking expenses;
Incumbent must exercise discretion in handling confidential, sensitive, and timely information;
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma. Bachelor's may substitute experience.
Experience: Four years of relevant experience. Bachelor's degree may substitute for years of experience.
This is a restricted position; continuation is dependent on funding and satisfactory performance.
