Senior Data Visualization Designer

The Analytics and Reporting team of the UVA Health System is seeking a full-stack developer to join our team. The position will involve development and deployment of novel data tools and products with our team of data science and healthcare experts. Successful candidates will blend technical skills with creative vision to:

• Develop data tools in UVA's data environment using Python and JavaScript
  
• Creating and deploying front-end data visualizations in support of improvement initiatives in UVA Community Health.
  
• Work with healthcare teams to distill qualitative and quantitative insights and to communicate compelling stories to leaders and team members.
  
• Be an active member of the Data Visualization team, contributing ideas on how to best develop our infrastructure to help patients and care givers.
  
• Work with stakeholders to understand their program needs and how we can us our rich datasets to support them.
  
• Understand industry trends and best practices in terms of using data visualization to effect user behavior.
  

Position Compensation Range: $43.04 - $68.86 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Experience: 5 years relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience with Python and JavaScript development a must. Experience with Tableau or PowerBI is a plus.

Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
