Position Overview: The position is a Senior .NET Web Application Developer for Platform Services, Web Services, Technology Services of VCU’s Department of Administration. This position plays a significant role in creating and supporting the spectrum of web platforms and technologies necessary for the VCU community to be successful.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in front-end web design and development technologies (ASP.NET, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and C#/VB.NET). Experience with the C# programming language is required. Willingness to be a team player. Desire to innovate, learn, and explore new technologies. Project management skills. Proactive/creative problem solving/adaptation skills. Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and an expressed commitment to do so while at VCU
Preferred qualifications: BS/MS degree or equivalent with programming experience 3+ years of design and/or development experience with ASP, .NET, Windows Forms, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and C#/VB.NET. Database design and development (Microsoft SQL Server) Experience with the VB.Net programming language is highly desired Understanding of version control and modern development technologies/workflows (Git). Understanding of web accessibility standards and technologies (WCAG, WAI-ARIA). Experience working within a university environment. Passion for technology and knowledge
