This is an exciting opportunity for experienced OR nurses seeking exposure to a broad range of surgical services in a high-volume ambulatory setting. The Role

As an Operating Room RN in UVA Health's Outpatient Surgery Center, you will provide perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced surgical environment that performs approximately 50-60 cases each day. Located in the Battle Building directly across from UVA Medical Center, this 12-operating-room facility provides exceptional exposure to a diverse surgical population while maintaining the efficiency and patient-centered focus of an outpatient setting.

• Gynecology (GYN)
  
• Urology
  
• Plastic Surgery
  
• ENT
  
• Orthopedics
  
• Robotic Surgery

In this role, you will:

• Function in both scrub and circulating nurse roles across perioperative services.
  
• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience.
  

• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  
• Support a high-volume ambulatory surgery program across multiple specialty service lines.
  
• Participate in cross-training opportunities designed to expand your clinical expertise and versatility.
  
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, efficiency, patient safety, and clinical excellence.
  

This position offers a schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) and outstanding work-life balance:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.

Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous Operating Room nursing experience

• Experience in multiple surgical specialties

• Scrub and circulate experience preferred

Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
