Deliver highly specialized procedural care in a fast-paced endoscopy environment where every patient interaction directly impacts outcomes, safety, and experience. This role brings together technical skill, clinical judgment, and collaboration across a high-functioning multidisciplinary team.

As a Registered Nurse in Endoscopy at UVA Health, you will practice at the intersection of procedural care and patient-centered nursing. Working across both outpatient and hospital-based settings, you will develop advanced assessment skills while contributing to a high-throughput, team-driven clinical environment designed for growth and variety.

The Role:

This is a dynamic, procedural nursing role where no two days are the same. You will rotate between key areas of the endoscopy workflow, balancing hands-on procedural support with pre- and post-care responsibilities in a high-acuity, high-efficiency environment.

On a typical day, you can expect to move fluidly across the care continuum, including:
  • Supporting procedures in the endoscopy suite, including:
    • Preparing and stocking procedural rooms
    • Assisting with GI and specialty procedures
    • Managing technical instrumentation
    • Administering and monitoring sedation
    • Closely monitoring patient safety during procedures
  • Providing comprehensive pre-procedure care, such as:
    • Conducting focused patient assessments and intake
    • Reviewing medical history and medications
    • Ensuring procedural readiness
    • Starting IVs and obtaining vital signs
  • Managing post-procedure recovery, including:
    • Monitoring recovery and patient stabilization
    • Coordinating handoffs and clinical communication
    • Preparing patients for safe discharge
  • Rotating responsibilities across procedure, prep, and recovery (50/50 mix) to maintain skill diversity and engagement

You will work in a fast-paced, high-volume procedural setting, collaborating with a large team of nurses and technicians across two locations, with opportunities to expand into pulmonary and interventional subspecialties.

Schedule highlights:
  • 4 x 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • Rotating late shifts
  • Minimal / infrequent call requirements
