DGS’s Office of Information Systems and Services (ISS) is a customer-focused organization whose primary responsibility is to provide technology solutions and support to facilitate the success of our agency and its customers.
Job Opportunity
As part of the ISS team, this position is responsible for software administration, performance tuning, problem identification and resolution in support of our SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office 365 implementations. In addition, the candidate performs collaborative troubleshooting with the Commonwealth’s IT partners where Microsoft Platform issues are involved. It supports projects and provides technical leadership of business systems projects. Chosen candidate will be responsible for implementation and maintenance of production, and Sandbox applications in conjunction with VITA personnel. This individual needs to have a solid understanding of the architectures and configuration capabilities of SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office 365 as well as proficiency in PowerApps on Power Platform.
Job Responsibilities:
· Administration, configuration, and design of agency SharePoint and Microsoft Teams sites.
· Effective coordination of project vs. tasks needs vs. operational requirements within organization.
· Stay abreast of industry trends and directions for SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and SQL Server DB.
· Learn about DGS principal business functions and strategic initiatives and apply this within SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
· Actively participate in application migrations from legacy data storage into SharePoint.
· Develop and foster a close working relationship with DGS staff to support business needs.
· Learn supported business activities.
· Provide excellent customer service experiences with internal and external customers.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong Understanding of MS SharePoint and Office 365 Architecture.
Interpersonal skills, and organizational skills for effective communications with all levels of the business and technical organizations.
Aptitude for establishing solid working relationships with systems users, obtaining a solid understanding of their business, and efficiently conducting requirements and design sessions for identifying and specifying logical requirements.
Ability to translate logical requirements into SharePoint designs.
Experience developing features, custom web parts, workflows with SharePoint 2013 or higher.
Thorough understanding of following SharePoint components: Lists, Libraries, Permission Management, Sites, Site Collections, Pages, Web Parts, Alerts and Workflow, Policies and Security.
Experience administering SharePoint instances which is integrated with Enterprise Active Directory.
Knowledge of SharePoint scripting and integration with external applications
Experience in developing user and technical documentation in both document and video
formats.
Experience in Microsoft Teams, including meetings, user management, file management and integration with SharePoint.
Experience with Office 365 Microsoft tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in PowerApps on Power Platform.
Experience with business process analysis, requirements gathering and modeling/design of workflow using MS-Visio
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application and systems engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent in experience and/or training.
Experience administering Microsoft SharePoint online, particularly within the COV SharePoint environment.
Experience with ShareGate tools for SharePoint
Experience with VITA SharePoint/Office 365/Teams offerings
Familiarity with other Microsoft Teams tools
Knowledge of Microsoft .Net development tools
Experience in coordinating the activities of a moderate size project.
Experience in developing PowerShell scripts.
