Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia - principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
The PVCC Single Stop Coach reports to the Coordinator of the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) and will support their efforts in implementing the Single Stop model supporting the students of PVCC. The role will include intake and assessment of students seeking assistance through Single Stop and referral to partners across campus as well as resource/support agencies that could be of value to the students. This position is approximately 20 hours per week for 48 weeks per year.
General Duties:
Participate in the day-to-day operation of the Single Stop site through a combination of direct service and outreach.
Conduct and supervise intake and assessment of Single Stop students.
Oversee and ensure that the proper documentation of all student data including client contact, referrals, and outcomes is entered into Single Stop’s case management database in an accurate and timely manner.
Engage in outreach and education around Single Stop services for the purpose of reaching students.
Facilitate scheduling of student appointments with legal and financial counselors.
Perform other duties related to the Student Financial Resource Center as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
Experience in customer service and/or direct delivery of student services is required
Comfortable speaking in front of people and delivering presentations
Resourcefulness in identifying support services for students
Experience with and commitment to working with low-income families and individuals.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice and inclusivity
Excellent time management, organizational and computer software skills.
Experience in human services, case management required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred
Bilingual Spanish/English preferre
