Provides technical support to clinical faculty and senior veterinary students in the medical section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, including ward and treatment room management, administering treatments and medications ordered by clinical faculty, and animal care administration/management. Special nursing care procedures may include special diagnostic procedures and infection control/isolation management. Assist in other areas directed by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of basic companion and large animal anatomy and physiology as a result of courses or experience; ability to understand instructions; ability to handle and restrain all species of animals; good human relations and communication skills; rabies prophylaxis will be required (provided by employer).
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed Veterinary Technician in Virginia highly desired.
