Job Duties
The Special Assistant will provide administrative support to the Commission, Executive Director, and staff, including drafting, proofing, and distributing agency correspondence, preparing reports, coordinating meetings and schedules for staff, and supporting general office administration; will assist with Commission meeting preparation and organization and records retention; responsible for surplusing furniture and equipment as needed; will manage phone calls, welcome office visitors, and provide general office coverage during business hours (no teleworking). Occasional travel required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; must have the ability to handle confidential materials; strong Microsoft Office skills required
Preferred Qualifications:
Five years of work experience in an executive support role; familiarity with state government helpful
