The University of Virginia's Department of Student Health and Wellness, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is seeking to hire a part-time mental health professional for the position of Staff Psychotherapist: Eating Disorder Focus. This position will provide triage assessment, diagnostic and developmental evaluations, consultation for eating disorder referrals, individual and group therapy for eating and body image concerns, referral assistance, and crisis intervention. The position may also provide supervision and some outreach programming.
Minimum Experience:
• At least 3 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents and/or young adults, with at least some of it in working with eating and body image concerns.
• Experience providing mental health services to individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Preferred Experience:
• Experience working in eating disorder treatment programs
• Training or certification in the treatment of eating disorders, disordered eating, exercise, or body image concerns
• Experience with group therapy and/or support groups
• Training in DBT, ACT, CBT, or other evidence-based treatment modalities
• Experience working with multidisciplinary treatment teams and/or medical providers, dietitians, care managers, psychiatry providers etc.
