The University of Virginia Division of Student Affairs invites applications for a Student Programs and Services, Administrative Assistant to provide support for the Strategic Initiatives & Student Success team, which encompasses programs, services, and initiatives related to Student Engagement, Fraternity & Sorority Life, Multicultural Student Services, Orientation & New Student Programs, the First Generation and Limited-Income student community, student spaces in Newcomb Hall, and divisional strategic initiatives.

Our intentionally team-based approach reflects a shift in traditional hiring models designed to embrace new paradigms that meet current needs. This is an in-person position with very limited opportunities for remote work.
The Student Programs and Services, Administrative Assistant provides operational support for a several functions including fiscal administration, grants administration, and other administrative functions.
Responsibilities include:
Perform all duties of an administrative assistant.
Support the ongoing administrative functions and operations, including special projects of an organization. Perform a variety of duties requiring an understanding of organizational operations, organizational procedures, and personnel.
Formulate decisions and make recommendations regarding planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
For fiscal support, may perform basic budget projections, run fiscal reports, monitor fund balances, and work with account owners to stay within budget. May perform accounts receivable and cashiering functions.
Regarding Grants, provide support for Grant application and submission process.
For academic and student support, may communicate with students regarding academic policies and procedures, provide information on course content and availability, and coordinate activities and events for student programs.
For human resources, may provide process support to search committees and coordinate successful onboarding of new employees. Prepare new hire paperwork and visa documents. Collect and verify employee payroll and timekeeping records.
Answers general questions from employees and refer human resources questions to the appropriate experts.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The salary range for is $45,000.00 - $52,000.00 commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, twelve-month University Staff position with full benefits . E mployment is contingent on successful completion of a background check.
