VCU Police Department has an exciting opportunity for a Student Safety Ambassador!

Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance and guidance to VCU students by providing physical presence and visibility within and around residential and academic buildings on both Monroe Park and MCV Campuses.
  • Assist with sworn Community Policing officers with crime prevention events, orientations, talks, community walks, in a non-law enforcement capacity.
  • Assist with sworn police officers with traffic control and way finding, participating in Pedestrian Safety initiatives and events.
  • Respond to locations where sworn officers are not required, to assist in a non-law enforcement capacity, as directed.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2nd year VCU Student or above.
  • Fingerprint and VCU Police background check will be conducted.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
