We’re currently searching for a Student Support and Success Coordinator to join our Dean of Students team in Blacksburg, VA to help us in our mission. So, if you’re passionate about fostering student success, please keep reading.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE:
1) You’ll be joining the Dean of Students team; a department centered on supporting students by acting as mentors and advocates pointing them in the right direction, serving as a sounding board, and assisting with personal, social, and academic challenges.
2) You’ll be reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean of Students, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment. 
3) You’ll be responsible for fostering student success and ensuring that students receive comprehensive support throughout their academic journey.
4) You'll help students overcome barriers to their success, both academically and personally.
5) You'll coordinate programming and initiatives for the Student Success, Outreach, and Engagement Team and provide administrative support within the Dean of Students office.
6) You’ll have the chance to grow and take advantage of a developmental plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.
7) You’ll be offered a base compensation package between $40,000 - $45,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package which includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in education, social science, or a related field is required.
• Experienced professional with a commitment to student success, learning and diversity.
• Collaborative self-starter with the highest level of communication, writing, administrative, facilitation, and organizational skills.
• Experience contributing to inclusive workplace relationships.
• Ability to collaborate in diverse teams to foster productive outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a higher education setting.
• Experience in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
• Proven ability to implement identity development theories across various marginalized groups.
• Familiarity with Navigate EAB, Maxient, Microsoft Office.

$40,000 - $45,000

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Some weekends/evenings
