General Description: This position is responsible for on-site technical support for the Waddell theater for outside events as needed.
Duties and Tasks:
Prepare the theater and surrounding spaces (e.g. dressing rooms) for the client.
Organize/maintain equipment
Operate audio and visual equipment for the technical rehearsals, performances and presentations
Post show cleanup
Essential Functions:
Coordinate events with clients.
Prepare the theater for the client.
Operate audio and visual equipment for the event.
Maintain the equipment in good working order during and after the event.
Ensure security of the facilities and proper use of theater equipment.
Work with scheduling manager of the theater and arranging scheduling of other technician if not available.
Train new hires on equipment and responsibilities of position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required KSAs:
Knowledge and experience of theater terminology, design principles and practices, theater equipment/supplies.
Knowledge of Audio and lighting systems operations and maintenance.
Knowledge of Electronic and audio principles used in theater productions.
Knowledge of safety requirements for personnel and equipment.
Knowledge of theater equipment maintenance and repair.
Ability to trouble shoot and perform routine maintenance of theater production equipment.
Strong customer service and communication skills required.
Strong management and communication skills are a must.
Required Qualifications:
Highschool diploma or GED.
Significant experience in stage or event production, to include stage rigging, lighting console programming, sound mixing, Audio/Video and computer technology .
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Theater (or specialized area such as lighting, sound or stage management, etc.) or a combination of education, training, and experience that proves proficiency in the field .
Design and execute artistic and technical support services for theater and musical events.
Some experience in a higher education setting.
