The Veteran Services Specialist (VSS) for OVS serves as a Veterans Affairs School Certifying Official in conjunction with the Director, Military Benefits Support Specialist (MSSS) and VSS. The VSS also provides student and administrative support as needed.
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
Working knowledge of office equipment like printers and scanners
Working knowledge of MS Office (MS Excel, Word and Microsoft Teams in particular)
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
High school diploma and significant work experience in a relevant field
Experience with Veterans Affairs VAONCE certification reporting systems
Familiarity with military culture
Working knowledge of Veterans Affairs education benefits chapters and policy/regulations
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
