Blue Ridge Community College invites applications from licensed veterinary technicians for a full-time, 9-month (August – May) Veterinary Technology Instructional Lab Support position supporting the Veterinary Technology Program.

The position involves:
  • Instructing students in laboratory and clinical settings
  • Laboratory supervision, preparation, and maintenance
  • Providing veterinary care to animals
  • Managing the regulatory processes associated with the Veterinary Technology program
  • May be required to teach Vet Assist courses
  • Maintaining licensure as an LVT throughout their time in the position
  • Other program related functions alongside a large team of experienced, talented veterinarians and veterinary technicians

Program facilities are well equipped for all aspects of veterinary technology instruction in delivering a broad array of courses. The program benefits from strong college administration and community support.

This is a full-time, classified, 9-month position paid over 12 months. Candidates selected for interview will likely be required to facilitate an instructional demonstration as part of the interview process.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a veterinary technician in Virginia
  • Associate degree in Veterinary Technology
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the topics of instruction
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to educating program students
Additional Considerations:

Helpful, but not required:
  • Strong background in small animal dentistry
  • Experience in an academic setting
  • Recent clinical experience.
