Job Description
Provide coordination and technical assistance for implementation of a Beef Center of Excellence. The objective of the Center is to assimilate, develop, and deliver research-based information to improve the profitability of Virginia’s beef industry. Primary responsibilities will include compilation, organization, and publication of existing resources in College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Veterinary Medicine by working closely with faculty and staff to create websites, educational materials, and a social media presence. The candidate will also work closely with faculty to translate research information into educational materials beneficial to the industry.
Coordinate the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and collaborate with faculty and industry partners to provide educational leadership related to beef cattle production. Participate fully in the policies and programs of Virginia Cooperative Extension. This is a full-time, restricted appointment with continuation based on availability of funding and needs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an agriculture related field.
Educational background and related experience in livestock production and marketing
Strong organizational, time management, communication and writing skills
Ability to work as part of a team with faculty, Extension Specialists, Extension Agents, and industry
Computer applications and software aptitude including design and management of websites and social media platforms.
Candidates must have ability and willingness to travel, along with willingness to work independently.
