The Full-Time Workforce Mechatronics instructor will teach Workforce Mechatronics classes and work directly with our Trades Program Manager to ensure quality instruction and student completion. This individual will also mentor other adjunct instructors. The successful candidate will teach Mechatronics/Industrial Technology and Advanced Manufacturing courses in topics including but not limited to: Electricity, Mechanical Systems, Fluid Power, PLC, Robotics, Industrial Motor Controls, Product ID, and Industry 4.0.
The successful candidate should be a Mechatronics/Automation/Controls Engineer or Technician (or similar role) and have significant experience in the following areas: industrial electrical, mechanical, automation, PLC’s, robotics, and advanced manufacturing. They should also possess a passion for helping others learn the craft. While teaching experience is highly beneficial, it is not required; however, our students expect to learn from a seasoned professional in the field.
The typical Workforce Solutions Mechatronics student may be a novice, have some limited knowledge, or be a highly experienced technician seeking a credential in their respective profession. The goal for our students is to complete their program of study and obtain the related credential. This individual will be integral in the success of our students and the Mechatronics program as a whole.

Primary responsibilities of this position:
· Primary responsibility is to teach a mandatory amount of Mechatronics courses per semester, most likely afternoon and evening classes
· Attend trainings for instructor certification (travel required) and recertification as needed.
· Ensure program quality by supporting adjunct instructors and assisting with student completion efforts. This includes helping students to successfully move through coursework, obtain industry credentials and licensures, and progress to the next level of training in their field.
· Assist lab technicians with setting up lab equipment and consumables for the Mechatronics program
· Review strengths and weaknesses of the Mechatronics program effectiveness and provide suggestions and feedback to program manager
· Assist with recruiting and training new instructors
· Provide feedback for future program development
· May occasionally work with employers to identify skill gaps in the workforce and make curriculum and instructional suggestions for the programs

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in Mechanical/Electrical Technology (or related field), with five years’ experience or minimum of 10 years' experience (with no degree) in appropriate industrial setting with extensive knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics, motor controls, PLC programming, Industrial Instrumentation, automation, sensors, and manufacturing processes
Teaching experience or industry training experience with the operation of industrial robotic equipment (i.e., Fanuc) and/or systems integration.
Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or related field, and/or a combination of education, training, and tested experience in one or more of the following related fields: include manufacturing, knowledge and experience with mechanical systems, pneumatics and hydraulics, motor controls, and PLC programming, robot programming, automation, sensors, manufacturing processes, computers, and local area networks.
Experience teaching/training adult learners in Mechatronics/Advanced Manufacturing industry (training experience from the field is accepted)
Documented industry training in automation equipment (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc).
