The Workforce Services Credentialing Coach is responsible for connecting with and assisting individuals who are enrolled in Fast Forward programs at PVCC to support their completion and credentialing success. The Credentialing Coach will play a key role in transitioning students through program completion and credentialing. The Credentialing Coach will serve as an advisor and guide for current students and recent completers.
The Workforce Services Credentialing Coach will assist interested individuals by providing guidance in identifying academic and non-academic needs, and connecting those individuals to resources in a supportive and professional manner. The Credentialing Coach will communicate with students on a regular basis and engage them individually and/or in small groups in preparation for credentialing examinations. The Credentialing Coach will communicate with student services and other college personnel to ensure that students have access to resources and support that will lead to completion of their workforce program, and successfully completion of the program credential. The Credentialing Coach will collaborate with instructors, program managers and students to develop remediation plans to address knowledge and skill deficiencies. The Credentialing Coach will capture appropriate data on outreach, student communications, and other interactions. The Credentialing Coach will lead the Workforce Services team in tracking credential attainment and following up with completers to encourage credential completion and acquire documentation of earned credentials.
*Responsibilities*:
* Provide excellent customer service to students through consistent and effective outreach and follow-up.
* Make outbound calls to recent completers regarding credential exam registration and attainment.
* Connect with current students to accurately explain program credential exam expectations and offer advisement on preparatory strategies and resources.
* Attend all required department meetings and training sessions.
* Accurately account for all credential inquiries and activity associated with all inquiries; complete weekly activity reports.
* Ensure that all necessary documents and forms are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
* Keep all required reports current and accurate.
* Work collaboratively with college faculty and staff in support of student success.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Strong interpersonal skills to help engage, provide support to, and motivate students.
* Excellent customer service skills to include the ability to effectively follow up and follow through.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Effective problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Google docs.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A degree in counseling, human resources, social services, or adult education
* Customer service experience including appointment setting, interviewing, relationship building, client services, coordinating programs and events.
* Work experience in a community college setting or in counseling or academic coaching.
* Successful experience in sales, marketing, public relations, recruitment, or related field.
* Knowledge of VCCS academic and workforce programs.
* Knowledge of available workforce training funding assistance such as FastForward, FANTIC, G3, VAReady and REV.
* Academic and career counseling skills.
* Knowledge of specific needs of underserved populations to attain educational success.
* Passion for helping others achieve their educational and career goals.
