The School of World Studies is seeking Instructional Assistants for the Fall 2022 academic year.
The Instructional Assistant (IA) position is an hourly wage position designed for providing administrative assistance to School of World Studies instructors. The position averages about 5 hours per week per course assigned. If desired, Instructional Assistants (IAs) may be assigned to more than one course per semester when approved by the supervisor. Course assignments are made by the Associate Director of SWS, who will serve as the position supervisor.
Specific responsibilities will be assigned by the course professor(s), and will include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Photocopying, scanning, filing, etc. -Conducting limited research for the professor -Replying to student emails and questions -Taking attendance in class -Managing questions in the chat during Zoom classes -Uploading recorded lectures to Kaltura Required Qualifications:
Must be in the process of earning a bachelor’s degree (BA or BS). Must be able to track details well. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Zoom. Experience using Canvas or Blackboard as a student.
Preferred Qualifications:
Has completed at least one semester of Foreign Language instruction with a grade of B or higher.
