Job Duties
Provide professional project management of complex higher education academic and research projects. Project types include new construction, fit out of shell spaces, renovations, and refurbishment of existing buildings and infrastructure. Manages project team in directing design and construction professionals, collaborating with campus partners, and administering contracts necessary to meet project goals, while maintaining budget, schedule and timely reporting to leadership. Reports to work as directed during emergency closings.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of operations and maintenance of institutional facilities including building and utility systems.
• Understanding of design criteria and building codes.
• Knowledge of facility design and design process, cost estimating, building codes, construction documents, construction materials and methods.
• Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of multiple design and construction projects. Well-developed capacity for analysis and evaluation of complex design, construction and code issues.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct multiple work assignments.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and interact positively with all co-workers, faculty, staff, and students.
• Working knowledge of project management software and other software including database, spreadsheet, presentation and desktop publishing programs.
• Experience interacting with code officials.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to monitor and or maintain quality control standards.
• Must be physically fit to climb a ladder, engage in moderate amounts of standing and walking to tolerate fluctuating temperature conditions.
