Created by Attorney General, Jason Miyares, this is a one-week summer program lasting from July 22nd to the 26th, 9:00am to 3:00pm each weekday.

About the Oliver Hill Externship Program of Law and Public Policy:

Named after the iconic civil rights attorney Oliver Hill, this highly competitive externship pays tribute to his remarkable life and legacy. Oliver Hill was a passionate advocate for social justice and equality, playing a pivotal role in landmark legal cases that challenged segregation and discrimination in Virginia and the United States. As one of the lead attorneys in the case of David v. County School Board of Prince Edward County, Hill fought tirelessly for the desegregation of public schools.

The Oliver Hill Externship Program of Law and Public Policy honors his enduring legacy by empowering HBCU students to follow in his footsteps and become champions for equality and fairness in the legal profession. This program’s objective is to expose HBCU students to the possibility of a career in law and the work of the Office of the Attorney General.
