    We’re currently searching for a Graphic Designer to join our Dining Services team in Blacksburg, VA. If you’re passionate about storytelling and skilled in crafting engaging, impactful content, please keep reading.

    Here’s what you need to know about the role:

    You’ll be joining the Dining Services Creative Services team, a group of creative professionals dedicated to enhancing the students’ dining experience through various marketing and communication mediums.

    You’ll report directly to the Senior Graphic Designer for Dining Services. You’ll work collaboratively with the Dining Services communications team and Dining Services staff to design and create communication and marketing materials, graphic elements, display materials, and signage for Dining Services reflect the excellence and innovation of our services, adhering to the universities and division’s brand identity and messaging guidelines.

    Coordinate projects from concept to completion. You’ll adhere to deadlines and manage your partners’ expectations to deliver effective marketing assets.

    Required Qualifications

    • A college degree with a graphic design focus and experience in graphic design production, or equivalent training and related work experience.
    • Demonstrated excellence in design and layout skills with a strong conceptual and creative focus.
    • Extensive experience using Macintosh operating systems (MacOS) and Adobe Creative suite; specifically, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator in a professional setting.
    • Demonstrated experience creating high quality publications, marketing fliers, electronic informational signs, graphic elements, and logos within an existing brand.
    • Demonstrated and proficient use of correct grammar, spelling, and proofreading. Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated experience providing graphic design project management.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of printing processes, finishing techniques, prepress, and file management.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain successful and effective relationships with a diverse, multicultural student, staff, and faculty population.
    • Demonstrated ability to work both independently with little supervision and to operate within a team- based environment.
    • Must possess strong organizational skills that include the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and perform multiple functions simultaneously within deadlines.
    • Applicants must provide relevant and recent design portfolio, demonstrating creativity and adherence to standard principles of design as link in resume, separate Word attachment, or PDF file.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with user experience design.
    • Experience with designing for responsive websites.
    • Comfortable creating social media content in a professional setting, staying up to date with the latest platforms, trends, and features.
    • Experience with project management systems.
    • Experience in a customer service position.
    • Experience creating, using, and following a style guide.
