Lecturer, McIntire School of Commerce (Faculty Wage)

Unit Paid Faculty teach additional courses on an as needed basis

The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia seeks qualified applicants to teach and provide content expertise for our Side Hustle program ( https://www.commerce.virginia.edu/side-hustle ). Positions will be filled on an as-needed basis according to curriculum needs and appointments are typically for teaching a single (1/2 credit) course. Created and delivered by some of UVA's and the McIntire School's most distinguished faculty, Side Hustle courses are one-half-credit classes that deliver bite-sized modern business content and skills specifically designed to be taken anywhere, anytime.

This is an at-will faculty wage position that does not carry benefits. If no position is currently available, we will retain submitted applications on file for future consideration for a period of 1 year.

Job Requirements:

Applicants, at a minimum, should hold a Master’s degree. Candidates with a Ph.D. in business or a related discipline and experience teaching in higher education are preferred. The relevant topics in the most demand currently are:

• Marketing
• Information Technology and Innovation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
