Job Duties
Provides mental health services to probationer/parolees including crisis intervention, screening and report writing, psychoeducational services, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and re-entry planning under the supervision and direction of the Regional Mental Health Clinician.
Screens, tracks, and monitors probationer/parolees with mental health services needs in coordination with assigned Probation or Parole Officers.
Provides consultation and training to Probation and Parole Staff.
This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant professional experience in the provision of mental health services to a varied population
Training and experience in the treatment of mental disorders, the ability to develop intervention and treatment plans, and to provide individual and group counseling/therapy
Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practices
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and to provide training to others
Additional Considerations
Advanced knowledge, skills, and training in Psychology (clinical or counseling), Social Work, or equivalent experience in related human services field
Experience in correctional, forensic, mental health or other institutional setting
