Job Summary/Basic Functions

The University of Mary Washington invites applications for the Assistant Director of Admissions Communications, a dynamic role supporting admissions recruitment through innovative marketing strategies. This position oversees the development and execution of print, web, email, social media, and advertising initiatives, collaborating with University Relations to align efforts with communication strategies.  Responsibilities include creating and editing admissions materials, managing CRM event communication, planning social media campaigns, designing quick-turnaround materials, and supporting admissions events. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, creativity, design knowledge, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects while developing strategic and engaging content for campaigns and events. 

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

  • Knowledge and skills related to publication production, creative, copywriting, editing, direct mail and digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of web tools and marketing.
  • Knowledge of social media content development and execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple projects while prioritizing work assignments and keep to a timely production schedule.
  • Ability to communicate with and gain the confidence of prospective students, vendors, and university staff.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in word processing, desktop publishing, presentation software, working with data in both databases and spreadsheets.

 

Required Experience:

  • Experience in marketing.

 

Additional Considerations:

Experience

  • Experience working with higher education technology products such as: Slate, Banner, ZeeMee, Campus ESP or other marketing/CRM platforms.
  • Education marketing background/experience.
  • Social media management across multiple platforms to manage audience, content development and scheduling.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communication.
