About the Department:
The purpose of Auxiliary and Business Services (ABS) is to improve the quality of campus life for students, faculty, staff, and the community. Auxiliary and Business Services supports the university’s overall strategic plan by providing quality goods, innovative services, and strategic business partnerships that improve value, increase student success, and enhance the university’s financial condition.
About the Position:
The primary purpose of the Access Control and IT Technician is to provide maintenance to the university’s CCTV equipment and access control hardware to ensure proper operation of all components of the systems are functional (including door contacts, request to exit devices, readers, the actual lock, power supplies, encoders, network connections, and cameras). This also includes maintenance of network connectivity and software settings for all connected hardware, ensuring proper documentation of work completed and inventory used.
Responsibilities:
Repairs and Installs Access Control, Alarm, and CCTV Systems:
Serves as Commissioning Agent of Large Contract Installs and Provides Oversight for Contractors:
Handles Customer Service Issues and Manages Requests and Inquiries for Technical Services:
Plans, Schedules, and Prioritizes Tasks and Assignments:
Patches and Services Network Connected Systems and Ensures Continuity of Service:
