Job Duties

The Accountant Senior is a member of the Office of Financial Management Team that will perform advanced professional work involving
the analysis and interpretation of fiscal data and application of accounting principles to manage key financial functions with agency-wide
implications. Responsibilities may include resource management, business operations, accounting system development, budget data
preparation, cost distribution, revenue control, and complex financial analysis. The role may also involve managing accounts
payable/receivable, fixed asset accounting, and compensation accounting functions, including supervising payroll technicians, ensuring timely
payroll processing, and preparing federal and state tax reports, as well as managing fringe benefits and premium conversion. The position may
supervise other fiscal professional(s) and support staff to ensure the efficient operation of financial processes and compliance with regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of accounting, financial, and budgetary principles, including accounts
  receivable/payable, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Experience utilizing data tracking and reporting systems to manage and maintain
  detailed financial records, generate reports, and analyze trends or projections.
• Working knowledge of budget preparation, analysis, and development, including
  research and trend analysis to support fiscal decision-making.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to provide guidance to staff, report
  findings, and interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to reconcile financial data and resolve discrepancies using source documents
  and internal systems.

• Experience with State accounting processes, procedures and applicable policies and laws
